Determination. There are so many words for it. Perseverance, resolve, will-power, purposefulness, persistence. How about grit, backbone, spunky or sticktoitiveness?
The Urban Dictionary defines it well: “Determination is simply not giving up. No matter how hard things get, or how badly you want to just give up, you keep on going…determination is going until your legs lose feeling, until your arms break, until your head feels like its about to explode, until your brain tells your that your done, and when your brain tells you that your done, you tell it, “Just one more time,” just, one, more, time…”
Do you have that kind of determination? Or do you just throw in the towel when something gets too tough? Have you ever faced something incredibly difficult and then made the decision that you were going to get through it regardless of how it feels? That’s what it is all about.
Determination is a decision. No one can make that decision for you. It is completely up to you. You can receive encouragement from others, but only you can decide to have the determination to see something through to the end.
Would you like to be determined to get out of debt once and for all? Do you wish you had the answer instead of just another lame piece of so called financial advice? Take massive action against your debt starting right here! Do it today!
Our greatest example of determination that we can follow is Jesus. The Bible (talking about the Messiah) proclaims in Isaiah 50:7: “I have set my face like a flint.” And again in Luke 9:51: “When the days were approaching for His ascension, He (Jesus) was determined to go to Jerusalem.” Jesus knew he was going to be mocked, beat up, spit upon, whipped and crucified. Yet he was determined to go through with it for our sake.
When you are facing your obstacles, do you set your face like a flint? Flint is a hardened quartz that produces sparks when struck against steel. It can start a fire.
What are you facing today? Do your goals seem impossible to achieve? Are you wanting to learn a musical instrument, earn another karate rank, learn a foreign language, lose weight or make more money? Whatever it is, read this to help you achieve your goals. Do you have family or relationship problems? Are you being crushed by the weight of your bills? I learned a long time ago from a dear friend, Ted Lowrie, that there are always options. Whatever you may be facing, be determined to find out what those options are. The solution is yours for the taking. Never give up.
Are you determined? I hope so.
