How an ordinary mom of 4 with an average life found the secret.

Warning: This is a serious, One-on-One opportunity only available to a few women and girls who are bold enough to be “different than the norm”. It is only for those who want to break out of the rut of self sabotage and live the life they were meant to live without regret and without the baggage of caring what others think of them.

Hello there. I am in a WAR! I really can’t take it any longer. This is driving me crazy. I’ve been doing research for quite a while now on an epidemic that is beyond comprehension. I’m telling you, that you will not believe the amount of people that suffer daily, minute by minute, second by second from this tragedy. The number is staggering to say the least. Experts say 95% of people in USA are consumed by this lingering, nagging, attacking, all consuming thought pattern of having low self esteem.

There are 313.9 million people in the USA (2012). That means 298.2 million people have low self esteem. Chances are – you are one of them. I am not attacking you or belittling you or accusing you of anything you’ve done wrong. Actually opposite, I am encouraging you that you can do something about it. When? NOW. Are you in?

This warfare against the mind affects every area of our lives – our relationships with spouses, children, friends, extended family, work relationships, how we take care of our bodies, what we eat, how we take care of our possessions and everything else we do. It stops us from being successful. It robs us of our dreams. It keeps us awake at night. It makes us wince when we look in the mirror. It even can drive us to suicide.

Ok, what right do I have to say these things? Well, I was one of them. I might not have been on the far end spectrum of horrible, all consuming thoughts of “woe is me”, but I definitely had a low self image. As I’ve been reading about women and their self esteem problems I couldn’t help but contemplate my life. I grew up in an average family. Dad, mom, brother, cat and dog in average America. Our extended family – Grandpa, Grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins were very much a part of my life. I had a wonderful family. I got good grades in school, always had a lot of friends, studied piano, ballet, baton, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball and ice skating. We always went to church. Always lived in a good neighborhood. Never went without food. I was never really overweight (a little but not a lot at one point in my life.) I married a great guy, had four awesome kids, everything was great, right? Wrong. Inside I never felt good enough. I never measured up to the standard. What standard? Well, the truth is there was no standard. It was made up in my mind.

There were many people in and out of my life that affected the way I thought. There were people that put me down and many others as well. They framed the way I thought. I sought to please them but it was never good enough. Those people were not healthy and did not improve my life but brought me down every time I was with them.

I started training in karate about 10 years ago after my husband and sons started in a karate school. I wasn’t interested at all when they started. I told Paul “that’s not my thing.” I went to watch them with my other friends that thought karate was “not their thing” either. We started talking and decided that it might be good for us to get in shape and learn to defend ourselves. Together we stepped out of our comfort zone and all joined at once – all 6 of us. It was great to learn with friends. We enjoyed laughing at ourselves with our awkwardness and lack of coordination. We found ourselves encouraging each other and soon found ourselves changing, growing stronger, and gaining a new-found confidence that was wonderful. I was around people that were healthy and encouraged my life.

As the years went by and I grew in skills those nagging thoughts of self condemnation lessened and I started to like myself. I started to appreciate how God created me, my special talents and my abilities that were mine and mine alone. It was wonderful. When people tried to manipulate me and put me in their control I started recognizing it for what it was and would stand up for myself and say – THAT IS NOT OK! It is not ok when people are mean to you or demean you. It is not ok for people to put others down. I started realizing that it was my choice and it had to be me to stand up for myself and think about how I thought about myself. Today, I surround myself with people that are healthy and build others up.

I believe 100% that you can change the way you think about yourself. If I did it, you can too. Today choose to build your self esteem and become successful in your life. Follow these 3 steps and find a new life right now:
    1. Take your thoughts captive. Don’t be on auto-pilot. Take a look at what you think about and decide to think RIGHT thoughts about yourself and others.
    2. Surround yourself with healthy people. You can do this through good friends, good books (such as the Bible), good mentors and good media.
    3. Start learning and going for your dreams. If you want to get in shape, join a class. If you want to learn a new skill, get a book. Choose to grow in your life.

Don’t be like the masses going down into self-destruction. Your life is way too precious to throw it away. Make the decisions today that ONLY you can make for your life. Self Esteem – The choice is yours. If you continue doing the things that you are doing, how long will it take you to build up your confidence and self-esteem to where you want it to be?
