This letter was written April 13, 2012.
It was the day after the Fight Like a Girl Seminar almost two years ago in Canon City, CO. It is a participant’s perspective of what happened that night.
Enjoy! And – I’ll see you on April 10th for this year’s seminar!

Dear Michelle,
Thank you, your husband, Kym Rock, staff, businesses and organizations – for making “Fight Like a Girl” one of the highlights of my life, and for allowing me to participate.
The sheer energy level was incredible and I enjoyed networking and meeting friends. I watched the faces of the women participating and was amazed at the wide range. The little girls giggled their way thru while the teens gained a new insight into how powerful they can be and indeed, are. They just needed someone to give them permission to use their power.
Older women appeared much more serious as they undertook the different moves. I could see their experiences reflected in their eyes and I wondered how many of us there had suffered the damage of domestic violence, and we wanted better for ourselves in the future and for our daughters and granddaughters, our sisters and our neighbors.
I found myself wishing my older daughters would have had access to such knowledge. One of my daughters was raped within weeks of going to college and that experience has changed her life.
Again – thank you for having the vision and determination to host and teach “Fight Like a Girl” in our community. And please thank Kym for her inspiration in developing the program. It was a blessing in my life, even though I couldn’t physically participate.
I will stay in touch.
