• What is Your Burning Desire to do?

  • Is there something out there that you have a burning desire to do?

Do you want to accomplish something whether great or small?

Do you even have a burning desire?  Are you not sure what it is?

Maybe your burning desire is to get married and have a family.  It could be to go to college.  Maybe you want to have a successful business.  It could be any number of things such as: become an Olympic athlete, a world champion in some sport, be a state governor or U.S. President, fly to the moon, feed orphans, help your community, be a police officer or fireman, or a doctor or nurse.

As you can see, there are limitless possibilities of desires to have and dreams to pursue.  But first, you have to have one.  There is an old saying that says “Without a vision, people perish.”  What that basically means is that if you do not have a goal or a vision in front of you that you are going towards, then you are living a life without purpose.  If you don’t have a purpose, you will start to get depressed and begin to die inside.  If you don’t have your own vision, rest assured that someone will recruit you to help them pursue theirs.

We were created for a purpose.  We were created with a destiny.  The choice is yours if you want to go for it or not.  John Wayne’s character Sergeant Stryker (Sands of Iwo Jima), said, “Life is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.”  Don’t give me any excuses about the economy or whatever bad hand you have been dealt, because it is your choice how you will respond to your circumstances.

Let me ruffle your feathers a little more.  Your true desires are displayed in how you spend your time.  Ouch.  How much time do you spend watching TV, surfing the net, playing videos games, texting, talking on the phone about nothing or dare I say “on Facebook”?  There, I said it.  I am not saying that these are bad , but if you are spending more time on these activities than you are pursuing what you would call your dream, then you may need to adjust your time schedule.  Where you spend your time (excluding work, because you have to pay your bills), shows your burning desire.  What do you do with your free time?

I confess that there have been times that I spent too much time on the above activities.  But I have made changes.  You can too.

So what is your burning desire to do?  Go for it.
